The morning mist felt like a sponge and lasted for hours until Kampen. I visited the Overijsselse Vecht that mirrors (in name) the Vecht a few hundred meters from our house. Then I plunged back home. 😁😺
The Zandhazen railroad bridge across the A1 near Muiderberg. The road to Muiderberg parallel to the A6. The Hoge Knarsluis across the Hooge Vaart in the mist. Feeling my way to the Harderdijk, hoping the sun will soon dissolve the mist. The ‘Monument voor Prima Mensen’ (Monument to Fine People): a Balkan-Soviet-style monument by artist Dominique Himmelbach de Vries. Tiles in front of it carry an ongoing list with names of ‘friends and obscure inspirators, artists, and writers’. The former town hall of Kampen. Not graves, but commemorative stones in front of the town hall. Ida Gerhardt was a poet from Kampen. The sun hiding behind the clouds between Mastenbroek and Hasselt. I landed on a road named ’Ziel’ (soul). The Overijsselse Vecht between Ommen and Varsen. Around the Junn barrage the Vecht has been largely restored to a half-natural condition. This includes side rills with bank erosion. The Vecht seen from the Junne barrage. My lunch spot for today. The Heilige Kruisverheffing Basilica in Raalte. The Broekstraat between Veessen and Heerde. The Elspeterbosweg between Vierhouten and Elspeet. A shortcut over fallen leaves in the Groevenbeek woods between Ermelo and Putten. The Nijkerk harbour on the Arkervaart.
